Why People Buy People: How to Incorporate Personality into Your Content Marketing

16/01/2023 Posted by Martin Bamford Ideas

As a small business owner, you know the importance of building trust with your customers.

Trust is the foundation of any successful business and ultimately leads to customer loyalty and repeat business.

But what do you do to build that trust?

The answer is simple: people buy people.

Your customers want to know who you are, what you stand for, and what makes you different.

They want to connect with you on a personal level, and they want to know that you understand their needs and that you’re the best person to help them.

And that’s where personality in your content marketing comes in.

Content marketing is all about creating valuable and relevant content your target audience wants to consume. But it’s not just about the content itself; it’s also about the person behind the content.

And that’s why incorporating your personality into your content marketing is so important.

Here are five tips to help you do just that:

1 – Be authentic

Your customers can sense inauthenticity a mile away. So be yourself, and don’t try to be someone you’re not.

Share your personal stories, your values, and your passions. Your customers will appreciate honesty and transparency.

2 – Show your personality

Your customers want to know who you are as a person, so don’t be afraid to let your personality shine through in your content.

If you’re funny, inject some humour into your content.

Let that passion come through in your writing, photos or videos if you’re passionate.

3 – Be consistent

Once you’ve established your personality, be consistent with it.

Consistency helps to build trust and familiarity and makes it easier for your customers to recognise you.

4 – Engage with your audience

Engage with your audience by responding to comments and asking for feedback and input.

This engagement helps to build trust and shows your customers that you value their opinions.

5 – Use visuals

Visuals are a great way to add personality to your content.

Use photos and videos of yourself, your team, and your products. Use infographics and charts to make your content more engaging.

***

By incorporating your personality into your content marketing, you’re not only building trust with your customers, but you’re also differentiating yourself from your competition.

So, how will you start incorporating your personality into your content marketing today?
