Your headshot or portrait photo is your first impression. It shows up long before the meeting, before the pitch, before a single word is spoken.
In those micro-seconds, people make up their minds. Do you seem credible, confident, and trustworthy?
Most photos don’t help. Some actively hold you back.
That’s where I come in.
I photograph founders, consultants, creatives, and business owners who care about how they show up. I create portraits and headshots for people who want to look like themselves on a good day. Relaxed, confident, believable.
We don’t do stiff poses or awkward smiles here.
What we do in my studio is guide you through the process so you know exactly what to do and how to feel comfortable in front of the camera. Tiny adjustments, clear direction, real expressions.
That’s how I get consistent results with my clients, and create photos they feel proud to use on their website, across social profiles, in press releases, speaker bios, and marketing.
I’m Martin Bamford, a portrait photographer based in Cranleigh, working across Surrey, Sussex and Hampshire.
Before photography became my full-time gig, I spent nearly two decades as a Chartered Financial Planner, advising clients where trust, clarity, and credibility mattered every single day. I was also a media spokesman, appearing on radio and in the national press, so I understand what it means to be visible.
Like many people, the pandemic gave me a little nudge to change career direction. I’ve built this business around the belief that how you show up visually has a direct and real impact on the opportunities that come your way.
Alongside my photography, I’m actively involved in my local community, leading a countryside charity and serving as a parkrun Event Director. That connection to people and place shapes how I work and how I see the role of a portrait.
If you’re current photos don’t reflect who you are today, it’s time to fix things.
Get in touch, tell me what you need, and we’ll take it from there.
